Mackenzie or Rina Ozawa (小沢里奈) is the protagonist of Touch Detective. She follows her family's business as a detective, but has trouble finding cases. After solving four cases, she joins the Great Detective Society and gains the title "Touch Detective".
Penelope or Manami (まなみ) is one of the girls that lives in Beatrice's Condominium (room 102) in town and is Mackenzie's best friend. She's often involved in cases and incidents.
Chloe or Chitose (ちとせ), but she also calls herself "Chloe the Super Sleuth", is a friend and rival of Mackenzie. She always appears to help Mackenzie on a case. Chloe is daring and generally doesn't think about consequences, which results on her getting into trouble.
Cromwell or Jii (じい) is a butler that serves Mackenzie's family for several years. He is a genius inventor and uses his inventions and knowledge to help Mackenzie with her cases.
Funghi or Nameko (なめこ) is an assistant sent from the Great Detective Society and can be used to solve puzzles. All he can say is "nnf .... nnf ..."
Daisy or Deijī (デイジー) is a girl that lives in room 203 of Beatrice's Condominium and has a part-time job in the clothing boutique Naked Bones.
Antoinette or Praline (プラリーネ Purarīne) is the owner of the pastry shop Sweet Mountain, her main client being Dover. She's always trying new pastries and cakes with strange ingredients.
Dover or Buraddo (ブラッド) is an anthropomorphic shark that is always at Antoinette's Sweet Mountain eating all types of sweets. He used to work on the Circus by performing with the tattoos in his back, moving them with his muscles.
Katrina (カトリーヌ・綾香 Katorīnu Ayaka) is the fortune teller at the House of Illusions. She gives advice for Mackenzie, but it is usually said in a manner that she has difficult to understand.
Beatrice or Yoneko (ヨネ子) is the landlord of the girls-only Condominium where Penelope lives. She enjoys watching TV all day long and eating bonbons.
Myron and Myrtle or Alumel (アルメル Arumeru) and Chromel (クロメル Kuromeru) are two acquaintances of Katrina that guard the door of her fortune-telling house in the first game. However, in the second game they work as private security guards at the Department Store.
Lugol (ルゴール Rugōru) is an organ grinder from Touch Detective that is usually performing in front of the Planetarium. He rarely speaks, usually ignoring anyone who talks with him and talking only once in the story.
The Circus Master is the master of the Circus that appears in Touch Detective. He is a despicable, selfish man that is always rubbing people the wrong way. He isn't very smart and has a really bad memory. Despite those traits, he is an amazing performer and wild animal trainer, being able to tame the beast Karbanog.
Karbanog is the most vicious animal in the world, having sharp fangs, moving like the wind, and everywhere he goes, a trail of blood follows. The Circus Master is the only person who can control him.
Ogden is a serious astronomer and the director of the Planetarium. He loves too see the stars in the Planetarium.
Lynsey or Mira (ミラ) is a small girl that likes stars, dolls and chocolate, often visits the Planetarium to see the stars and get the free chocolate. She is always carrying a hand puppet named Lini (マギ, Magi).
